she/her/hers
Tara is from Hollis, Maine, traveled the country for her education, and has finally landed with her family in Fryeburg where they call home. Tara has her BS from the University of Southern Maine in Exercise Physiology/Biology, MS from Montana State University in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition, and PhD from East Tennessee State University in Sport Physiology and Performance. Throughout her studies, Tara has focused on factors that influence athletic performance, for example, training habits, nutrition and supplements, and fatigue. She continues to do research on pregnant and postpartum women and student-athletes in the fields of energy availability and exercise and nutrition habits.
Tara has always been an athlete participating in team and individual sports. Outside of the weight room, she continues to distance run, dance at her childhood studio, Nordic ski, and do epic hikes in the White Mountains. As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach, Tara has worked with athletes and exercise enthusiasts of all ability levels and sporting disciplines. She is an educator and enjoys teaching people the importance of proper strength training form and is always happy to explain the "why" behind workout intent. She believes in purposeful programming geared toward specific goals, and providing education to clients on ways to feel stronger, happier, and healthier for daily life.
Tara loves to lead by example with her clients. She continuously pursues her own fitness goals which helps her remain empathetic and relatable with her client's fitness journeys. This year she hopes to run a fast half marathon, the Mount Washington Road Race, and plans to perform 3 dance pieces on stage with her dance crew.
