Kat Barker Bacon
Group Fitness Coach
she/her/hers
Fitness has always played a central role in Kat's life. She started playing sports at a very young age, and went on to play varsity field hockey for Connecticut College. An ACL injury ended Kat's college field hockey career in her final season. Since her injury, Kat has focused on supporting her body in positive ways through mobility, strength training, and functional fitness. She aims to help her clients feel strong and empowered through fitness, avoiding injury, and most importantly, having fun!
Kat began teaching her group fitness classes at a small local studio in Puerto Rico in 2016. She made the move to Portland, Maine in 2017, and started teaching her signature Tabata-style classes at Rêve. In March of 2020, she founded a company called BaconBerry, to help people gain access to accessible, virtual fitness options when the pandemic hit, and continued teaching her signature HIIT-style classes. She now offers these classes at The Form Lab twice a week.
Outside of The Form Lab, Kat works remotely for a tech company, and spends time with her husband and their new daughter Birdie and their two dogs. She still practices many different types of movement - including strength training, boxing, running, yoga, and dancing.
You can find Kat on the schedule Mondays and Wednesdays at 8am (and occasionally on weekends) teaching her 45 minute Tabata Bootcamp class...a super fun, fast-paced, high-intensity workout. Kat is also certified in XFormer pilates and teaches at Reframe in Falmouth.
